Help For A Burned Out Mommy

Published by mom2six at 12:35 am under Uncategorized Edit This

I need help in the worst way. I have been suffering from a bad case of burn out. It is hard to describe how I feel right now, except to say just plain exhausted.

Everything is suffering in my life as a result. My thought processes are muddled and my head is just fuzzy. My body hurts, and I feel like I haven’t slept in months. I feel as if I am running an uphill race and the hill just keeps on getting bigger and bigger.

I know for a fact that my family does not understand this. And neither does my physician. My husband seems to think that this is all in my head.  I hope that perhaps someone reads this and can relate some suggestions to me to help my weary body feel like normal again.

So, it is once again time to finish off my nightly work and call it a day. Hope that you all have a wonderful day.

You need some me-time!! Find a fun class to take, which is one evening a week. I personally have recently taken up knitting. If it’s not possible to do that then just try to get out of the house - just yourself, no one else - go to the park or the grocery store or just go for a drive. Just getting away from everything for a little bit is very rejuvenating.

You need a vacation ASAP. Take some time for yourself. You won’t be any good for anyone else if you don’t treat yourself well. Think about all you do for your family–of course, you’re burned out. I say, “Schedule a vacation for just you or you and a really positive girlfriend, leave the kids in daddy’s care or with grandma, get away, call daddy and the kids only twice a day (morning and night), get a massage, manicure, pedicure, visit a hair salon…OR if you’re on a tight budget, go stay with a really positive friend for a few days and just relax.”

    Doctor’s orders. Stat.
