Let Me Tell You About My Day
Today was not your ordinary day at work. It started out normally enough, but then a man in a hospital gown appeared out of nowhere. Then it started to get interesting.
Now some of you might wonder what is so unusual about a man in a hospital gown. Well nothing is unusual if you are in a hospital, but I work in an airport. It seems that the man walked out of a downtown hospital, got into a cab, and told the driver he wanted to go to Philadelphia. So the driver drove him to the airport. At the airport the man paid for his ride with money from his wallet, then went inside.
Once inside, he approached an employee, ( who just happened to be my bonehead son), and asked how to get to Philadelphia. Not thinking he pointed him in the direction of the ticketing counter. The man then approached another employee and asked the same question only to get the same answer. Now this worries me that not one of them thought this strange enough to warrant contacting the police.
So the man walks toward the ticket counter. Luckily before he got all the way some quick thinking employees stopped him and started stalling him by asking questions while waiting for the police. Well once the police came into the picture, the man starting changing his story. He couldn’t tell the same story twice.
As it turns out, he was arrested the night before by a local community and was taken to the hospital for an evaluation. I don’t know how he got out of the hospital today, but there he was standing in the ticket lobby in a hospital gown, sock footies, and the IV ports still in his hand.
Well he didn’t make it onto a flight. He was taken away by the airport police in handcuffs. I don’t know what happened to him, but one can only hope that he got the help that he needed.
All in a day’s work at the airport.

Oh, wow. I’ve taken some pretty odd things for granted, but nothing quite like that. That’s quite a story!
