Working My Nerves

Published by mom2six at 10:45 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

If you remember I told you like two weeks ago that I was going to be training a new employee. Well this woman is working my last nerve. I don’t think I have ever trained someone that pushed all my wrong buttons.

Now don’t get me wrong. She is a very nice woman, just not the brightest light bulb in the house. Or you could say the porch light is on, but no one is at home. I could think of a million more. She is seriously lacking in the discretion department. Blurts out unnecessary comments, says incredibly rude things to people and doesn’t bat an eyelash about it. And I have to keep reminding her that inappropriate comments can get you in lots of trouble.  Then to top it all off…….she doesn’t catch on very well. There is a ton of information to remember about our job, and she is only retaining about half of it.

Now we are almost to the end of her training period, and it is decision making time for me. If I feel she is not ready, I can delay her until she is. Or I can take the chance that she will pass the next phase with flying colors. I have about two more days to make my decision, and I have to admit I am leaning towards the delay. But alot of my decision will be based on her performance over those two days. Who knows maybe she will suprise me.

But one thing is for sure……..I can’t wait to be back working alone with my OJT. Lord knows my brain is almost fried from answering the same question over and over again.
